5 months and going strong
Its hard to believe that Ethan is already 5 months old. I had not planned on writing much at this point and saving it for his 6 month mark but in the past two weeks this little guy has changed so much that I want to share!
* Ethan went on his first plane ride and did amazing! On the return flight he slept all but 15 minutes of the flight, it was perfect!
* Our little guy puts himself to sleep in his own bed now. No sleep training really necessary, he did this on his own. On our first night of vacation Ethan was so tired he just cried when I tried to rock him so Len suggested I just put him down in the bed for a minute and he rolled over to one side with his thumb in his mouth and fell fast asleep.
* In the past few days Ethan is trying his best to sit up on his own. He still falls over most of the time but he's trying so hard. Its really cute.
* Ethan's hand-eye coordination has skyrocketed in two weeks. Before he was just grabbing at air when he saw an object. Now he sees what he wants, reaches and takes hold. Nothing is safe if he can reach it, as dad found out with his bowl of cereal and Audrey is finding out with her hair. Ethan loves to grab everything. When he sees his bottle on a table he reaches and puts it in his mouth. Ususally not tilted back far enough to get anything, but that will come.
* The other morning he found out that when he pulls his feet up in the exer-saucer he bounces. So he kept practicing this new skill. Especially because I cheered him on.
* The other afternoon he also discovered that someone was watching him while he played on his play mat, himself! He kept looking into the mirror & smiling and reaching towards himself. It was cute.
* Bath time is super fun. Ethan loves to splash and kick all the water out of his tub. Tonight he found that his turtle's head fits into his mouth and he was not letting go.
* Ethan loves to stand. Any chance he gets he will straighten his legs out so that he can stand and see the world around him. He also loves to look in the direction that dad and Audrey are. He recognizes their voices right way and will turn his head in all ways to find them and then give a huge grin to them.
* Ethan loves to eat. I have been making E's baby food, from applesauce, butternut squash and peas to more gourmet meals of sauteed fresh corn, onion & orange peppers. His favorite is pear & apples with cinnamon. YUM!!!
* Our little guy loves his thumb too & drooling.
I am excited to see what the next weeks bring as Ethan practices sitting up more, babbling, and moving about. He is such a happy baby!

Vacation
Our recent family vacation to St. Simons Island, GA was wonderful. It was relaxing, beautiful beach weather and all around fun for all. Audrey had a blast playing with her cousins Emily, Caroline & Harrison and Ethan slept & ate like a champ. We took so many pictures and video clips of the kids playing. Audrey and Ethan loved the sand and the water. Ethan was a pro in the pool kicking his little legs and Audrey had fun "swimming" around in the pool all by herself (with floaties & goggles in place). Video to come.

Graduation
Audrey had her preschool graduation last week, we couldn't be more proud of our little girl. Her school did a great job hosting a splash party for the kids and their families. It was fun to see Audrey with all of her friends. She had an amazing year and just loved her teachers and all her friends. This is a picture of Audrey with her teacher Mrs. Warren receiving her end of the year Memory Book. YAY Audrey!

I can ride my bike!
Audrey received an awesome princess bicycle for her birthday from Nana & Grandpa. It has sat on our porch since April, finally Audrey really tried and got it! She loves it!!!! She has even already had a playdate with her friends to go riding at the park. Very cool! Ethan loves to watch her ride.
