Peace

There's nothing quite like a sleeping baby that just seems to make the world a little sweeter. Or at least in my opinion. My idea of peace changes each day, be it Audrey's smile, Len's hug, Ethan's coo, kids playing & laughing, the wind, a sunny day, and yes even chaos...it could be anything on any given day or any given moment that brings that feeling about. I have learned from my children that it is important to find that peace every day. Some find it in prayer, some in nature and others in tiny fleeting moments in everyday life. It makes the days much brighter.

2 month stats

Ethan in his St. Patrick's Day colors.

Our little guy is growing so fast! He did great at his 2 month check-up and only cried for less than a minute after 2 shots and just looked around the room the entire exam. Ethan weighed in at 13 pounds and was 23 1/2 inches tall, putting him in the 78% for weight and 69% for height. We moved up to size 2 diapers. I am keeping my fingers crossed for longer naps instead of short 10-15 minute cat-naps here and there during the day but I am loving that we only have to get up once in the night to feed him and then right back to bed. He just adores Audrey and loves for her to talk to him and show him toys. They "played" on the playmat the other day for almost 30 minutes!

Smiles

Ethan is now 2 months old and man how time flies! He is beginning to smile more often. Mostly for Audrey and in the mornings while he is on his changing table looking at the bears. It is still so cute to see Audrey chat with him and how he responds.
Audrey is still loving school and all of her friends. She has been busy planning her 4th birthday party. At school they have been celebrating "reading" this month and Dr. Suess's birthday. They painted their feet at school last week after reading "The Foot Book" and have been learning many new songs about spring.

We are all excited about spring around here! It means the chance to play outside, take walks and see all of our neighbors!

Here's looking at you...

Audrey just adores Ethan. The other morning Ethan was hanging out in the bouncy seat and his favorite friend & big sis came to entertain him. It was so cute to watch them interact. We got to see some of his first attempts at smiling. Audrey held his interest and they "played" for a good 5 minutes until hunger called both of their tummies to breakfast.

Moving about

At six weeks Ethan is great at moving his head around and lifting his head up to see everything & everyone. Here's a short clip of him moving about & "chatting" one morning on the changing table.

Game Time

I am realizing how little time I have to sit and post these days. I have tried several times to post a few pics while Ethan sleeps in my arms and that never seems to work. I think he knows when I sit at the computer and wakes up instantly!

The other day Len & Audrey sat down to play "Hissss" and Ethan joined in. But he wanted little to do with the game and just stared at me & the camera.

He is definitely much more alert these days and just loves to look around. We still have not seen a full smile but he is working on it. Ethan really responds to Audrey's voice. And the big sister has been so WONDERFUL! She loves to check on him and give him kisses all the time. He is changing every day and looking more and more like his big sister. At this age they both have/had such serious faces, always deep in thought.
And Audrey loves to entertain Ethan where ever he may be. This day he was chillin' in his crib. A place that he spends very little time.

S is for Snowman

Ethan is developing a schedule, somewhat and we know that it will change weekly for some time just as we get used to it. But he likes to stay awake and see all that he can especially when we got out and about. The sleep at night has not been bad at all (knock on wood). It can make the days seem a little long since he likes to be awake a lot during the day but the nights are nice. Its hard to believe that tomorrow our little guy will be 6 weeks old! His facial expressions right now are priceless and so cute to see but very difficult to capture on camera. They are fleeting moments that make the day so much sweeter. As do the little cat naps.
Snoozing in his bouncy seat with his favorite blanket.
