S is for Snowman

Ethan is developing a schedule, somewhat and we know that it will change weekly for some time just as we get used to it. But he likes to stay awake and see all that he can especially when we got out and about. The sleep at night has not been bad at all (knock on wood). It can make the days seem a little long since he likes to be awake a lot during the day but the nights are nice. Its hard to believe that tomorrow our little guy will be 6 weeks old! His facial expressions right now are priceless and so cute to see but very difficult to capture on camera. They are fleeting moments that make the day so much sweeter. As do the little cat naps.

One Month

Ethan is now one month old and has a lot to say. Well not really but he does prefer a warm bottle, lots of cuddles and loves to be out and about to see his world. At his one month appointment he is weighing in at a whopping 10 pounds 10 ounces and just over 21 inches long.

Family visit fun

Last week Margaret & Caroline came for a visit. We had the best time playing and playing!!! Caroline became Audrey's biggest fan and they played so well together. The girls went ice skating, sledding, played in the snow making a snowman & snow angels and were just the best of pals all week long. It was so much fun to watch them together. And Margaret got lots of snuggle time with Ethan.

Hanging out

Ethan absolutely loves his bouncy seat, he is following the footsteps of his big sister. He also responds to Audrey's voice with delight, most days and is able to sleep through her play dates of screeching and laughter. :) Audrye loves to hold Ethan and help read books to him. His current favorite is "Bear on a Bike", this was one of Audrey's favorites as well.

My super cool warm up suit from Laura, Thanks!!!

Today Audrey had a winter concert with her pre-K class at a local nursing home that was so cute. The kids all did a great job singing about 20 songs/nursery rhymes. I am always impressed on how much she has learned at school. Ethan was so impressed too that he slept through most if it.

Growing by leaps and bounds

Ethan is growing and changing daily. It is so amazing to watch his little personality blossom. Of course he still sleeps a ton and loves to eat. He responds to Audrey's voice and looks in her direction when she sings to him. So far Ethan is very laid back. However I have learned that he does not like to sleep when we run errands/go out and about. He wants to see the world and just looks around at everything. And then he crashes for the remainder of the day once we are home.
Today he spent time on his playmat and even discovered himself in the mirror. It was funny to watch him twist his head back and around and just stare at the mirror.

Video: At three weeks Ethan is not very active but here's a short video clip. Enjoy.

Big Sister

Audrey is loving her new title as big sister and loves to introduce Ethan to all of her friends. Of course she is very excited to show him off for a minute or two and then off to the playroom! She has taken a keen interest in helping as much as possible too. She practices often with her doll, baby Allie. Audrey is a great swaddler and comforter to her doll. It is fun to watch her take care of Allie and even put her in the swing with a blanket and pacifier.

School for big sister Audrey is still going great. She loves to play with her friends, sing songs and loves project time. She has been great about her recollections of the day's events at school and is more than happy to share then over lunch/dinner. We have been so impressed with the number of songs she is learning and can remember just after singing them once. Her drawings are much more creative as is her imaginative play with her dolls, friends and us.

Audrey also LOVED watching the Super Bowl. We had a picnic in the den and she could not wait for the 3D commercials. But best of all she had us pause the game whenever she needed to go to the kitchen for anything, she did not want to miss anything. She is her daddy's girl when it comes to watching football.
